I absolutely love this time of year when the weather cools and all the changing of the leaves... shhh plus we get to really have some fun and make such beautiful patterns to decorate the inside and outside of our home and even our office at work; this is absolutely my favorite time of the year. So, let's get started already! First, I want to share a video how-to Tutorial link for this pattern that you can follow along with this pattern, and it helps to see up-close each step I take so everything will be so very easy for you. The video link is here highlighted in blue Countryside "Boho Pumpkin" this hyperlink will take you directly to the video crochet tutorial for viewing which I definitely recommend.

To get started make sure you go over your Materials checklist.
Materials Checklist: For similar pumpkin in photo use a category 4-weight yarn or a 3-weight yarn. Yarn used in photo and video tutorial is Caron Cotton Cakes in the color Natural which is a super soft lightweight yarn that is an acrylic and cotton blend. Pattern also calls for a 4.00mm crochet hook, Jute rope or any kind of rope or even yarn if you'd like. Scissors, yarn needle and some wooden beads for the tassel; and poly-fill stuffing or any kind of stuffing you have.

This pattern will be worked side to side and worked up into a rectangle which will be 9.5 inches wide and 4.5 inches tall.

To Begin :  Make a slip knot on hook.
chain 21
Row 1: in second ch. from hook in the back bump of the chain make 1hdc, in back bump of each ch. make 1hdc, ch.1 and turn work.
Row 2: in same ch. make 1hdc, in each of the rest of the chains make 1hdc in the front 3rd loop located directly under each chain, ch.1 and turn work.
Row 3: in same ch. make 1hdc, in each of the next 18 ch.'s make 1back post hdc in each, in last ch. make 1hdc, ch.1 and turn work.
Row 4: repeat row 2
Row 5: repeat row 3
you will continue to repeat row 2 and row 3 over and over and over untill you have completed row 31. Row 31 will be a back post hdc row.
Once you have completed Row 31 you will now fold both sides together with the ribbing side facing out. You will ch.1 and begin to slip stitch both sides together. If you have any problems, please click the highlighted blue link that says countryside "boho Pumpkin". Once you have completed closing the sides you will cut a very long yarn tail at least 15 inches long. Pull yarn tail through last loop on hook and tighten, it will bind off your stitch. That same yarn tail thread with your yarn needle and begin to weave the yarn needle in and out the stitches on the edge about every third row in and out over and over till you work your way all the way around. Pull that yarn tail to close the bottom of pumpkin. Place a few stitches in the center for more security. If you have any problems, please click link highlighted blue that says Countryside " Boho Pumpkin". Now it is time to stuff your pumpkin with its stuffing, once pumpkin is stuffed, we will now begin our stem.
Stem: grab your jute rope and create a large loop bigger than your hand as seen in photo.

wrap your rope around your two fingers 4 times while holding your large loop.
remove your two fingers, but keep it bunched up. Do not let it unravel.

while holding the large loop and bunched up rope begin to wrap rope around evenly starting from top to bottom, very tightly. You're going to want to wrap that all up nicely for your stem. If you have any problems, please click video link highlighted in blue that say Countryside ' Boho pumpkin". Once done you will then need to cut the top and bottom off with scissors. Thread yarn needle with top yarn tail and repeat the same process as did the bottom to close. Do not close all the way leave a thumb size hole for your stem. To sew stem onto top of pumpkin place stem in center and sew each side closed but go through stem like in photo at the very bottom in photo 11, repeat that several times all the way around the top of pumpkin till secured. Do not cut yarn tails. Next step is to thread bottom yarn tail, insert yarn needle in center of bottom squeeze pumpkin and push yarn needle through the center of pumpkin and out the top. And repeat by wrapping yarn around pumpkin in-between the double ribbing and insert yarn needle back through the center of the bottom and repeat process over and over several times working your way all the way around the pumpkin. Try to line up both yarn tails next to each other for our tassel. After that process is done, we will need to thread our beads with our yarn tails, we want both yarn tails threaded through all beads together. After beads are attached, we will then create a knot and another knot on top of the first knot, so the beads do not fall off. Once you have knotted your tassel you can now cut your yarn tails. CONGRATULATIONS! YAY!!! You have completed your very own Country Boho Pumpkin! If you'd like to make a larger or smaller Pumpkin, just divide the stitch count and row count in half or double the stitch count and row count to make a larger Pumpkin. Create all three sizes for a beautiful country themed set!
